For DigEx Major Project 1, I was allowed to choose any topic provided the website offered an interactive service rather than just pure information.
It also needed to provide two levels of user access, each with a tailored interface that addressed users' specific needs and goals.
I chose to create a virtual art gallery with two user groups: visitors and curators. I believed that such an interactive platform would make art more engaging.
This project was a fantastic opportunity to delve into the aesthetics and functionalities that enhance user engagement in a digital space.

Takeaway
In designing the virtual art gallery for my project, I researched websites like Adobe Color and Google Arts & Culture, analysing their design solutions and key features.
My focus was on integrating Gestalt principles, such as similarity and proximity, to ensure a cohesive and intuitive user interface.
Inspired by Adobe Color's interactive exploration, community features, and Google Arts & Culture's streamlined content display and high-quality imagery, my design proposals enhance user engagement and educational value, creating a user-centric online art experience.
Target Audience
The virtual art gallery targets art enthusiasts aged 18-55 globally, including professionals like curators and art historians who seek digital engagement tools, and visitors from varied backgrounds who appreciate interactive and educational art experiences. Both groups value immersive, accessible, and informative interactions with art.

Finishing Thoughts
So far, I am pleased with the colour palettes chosen for my project. It has created a very coherent aesthetic that can be related to pastels and oil colours.
This unit has been instrumental in advancing my JavaScript skills, allowing me to explore a broad range of interactive features.
Additionally, researching various user groups in depth has been incredibly insightful, enhancing my understanding of user-centred design. This experience has enriched my technical skills and approach to digital communication.
