Renaissance Art Academy

For Web Design 2, we were tasked with creating a one-page interactive JavaScript website with an educational theme.
My client is a fictional, top-tier academy dedicated to expanding creative boundaries for both professional artists and design enthusiasts.
This project allowed me to delve into designing an educational platform that both informs and inspires its users, making it a rewarding and creative endeavour.

Smashing Magazine's pastel gradients and interactive features inspired my design's harmonious colour scheme and accessible navigation.
The Getty Research Institute's striking yellow and black palette informed my approach to cohesive branding. My design will integrate these elements, focusing on consistent branding and user-friendly features to enhance engagement and thematic unity.

Following constructive feedback, I enhanced the website's visual hierarchy and readability. Adjustments like deepening the header text colour and introducing a highlight box improved user navigation and visibility. These changes, guided by user feedback and testing, refined the design and deepened my understanding of user-centred design principles.
The project was immensely helpful, strengthening my design skills and problem-solving abilities. These improvements have prepared me well for future design challenges, ensuring I can deliver robust and aesthetically pleasing solutions.
